Carousel

Carousel turns one template into dozens of unique variants, enough carousel content for a week or more from a single session.

You pick a template that defines the layout: fonts, colors, slide count, which parts are variable. Then you fill in the variables (text, images) using AI generation or CSV import. Each variant is a unique multi-slide carousel, rendered and ready to post. You work at the template level instead of exporting slides one at a time from a design tool.

How It Works

1. Pick a template. Browse public templates or your own.
2. Generate variants. Use AI prompts or CSV to fill in variable fields across dozens of variants at once.
3. Review. Each variant shows all slides in a visual preview. Click into any one to edit it in the scene editor.
4. Assign accounts and schedule. Pick which account posts which variant, attach music, and queue.

Templates

Browsing

The Carousel page shows all available templates. Each card displays the template name, slide count, variable count, and a preview thumbnail. Pinned templates appear first.

Three categories:

• Public. Shared across the platform. Good starting points.
• Organization. Specific to your organization.
• Mine. Templates you created.

Search by name to filter.

Template Structure

A template is a set of pages (slides). Each page has blocks: text blocks, image blocks, and backgrounds. Blocks marked as variables are the parts that change per variant.

Example: A 5-page template might have these variables:

• page_1_text_1 (hook headline)
• page_2_text_1 (step 1)
• page_3_text_1 (step 2)
• page_4_text_1 (step 3)
• page_5_text_1 (CTA)
• caption (post caption with hashtags)

You never touch the layout, fonts, or design. You just fill in what changes.

The Scene Editor

Click any template or variant to open the full scene editor. Here you can:

• Edit slide layouts. Move, resize, and style blocks visually.
• Edit text inline on the canvas. Change fonts, sizes, colors, alignment.
• Swap images. Pick from your collections or upload new ones.
• Add and remove blocks. Text, images, and backgrounds.
• Drag and position with magnet snapping for precise alignment.
• Undo/redo all changes.

The scene editor is where you build new templates or fine-tune individual variants before posting.

Generating Variants

AI Generation

Click Generate on any template to open the generation modal.

Configure:

• Prompt. Describe what you want. Be specific: "20 carousels about morning skincare routines for women over 40. Each carousel covers a different routine. Page 1 is the hook, pages 2 to 4 are the steps, page 5 is the CTA. Captions should include 3 to 5 hashtags."
• Model. Pick the AI model for generation.
• Variant count. How many unique variants to produce.
• Image collections. If the template has image variables, select which collections to pull from. You can set per-page collections for more control (product shots on page 1, lifestyle images on pages 2 to 4).

The AI reads your template's variable structure, your product context (target demo, brand tone, desired outcomes), and generates complete variants. Every text field filled in, every image pulled from your specified collections.

CSV Import

For exact control, use CSV. The header row maps to the template's variable names:

Upload a CSV file or paste it directly. Each row becomes one variant.

Use Copy header row to get the exact header format for the template. Fill it out in a spreadsheet, paste it back.

How columns are matched:

• Headers match the template's keys, case-insensitive.
• Include only the columns you want to override. A missing column or blank cell keeps the template's own text or image for that block.
• Extra page_N_text_M columns beyond a page's existing text blocks add new text blocks to that page.
• Image cells take a direct URL or a collection name (a random image is picked per variant).
• A CSV with no matching columns at all is rejected, as are headers that differ only by case (like Caption and caption together).

CSV is faster than AI when you already have the copy written.

Reviewing Variants

After generation, variants appear in a list. Each variant shows:

• Visual preview of all slides
• Text content for each variable
• Status: working, drafted, scheduled, or posted
• Account assignment and music

Editing a Variant

Click any variant to open it in the scene editor. Make changes to text, swap images, adjust positioning. Changes save to that specific variant without affecting others.

Account Assignment

Each variant has an account picker. Select which account should post this variant. You can assign different accounts to different variants from the same batch.

Music

Attach a music track from the Music Collection. Click the music icon on any variant to browse and select. Music carries across to the post when you queue it.

Queueing

Once a variant looks good, click Queue to send it to the posting pipeline. It becomes a scheduled post assigned to the selected account. The system publishes it at an optimal time the next day.

You can queue variants one at a time or in bulk.

Drafts

Variants you want to save but not post yet can be saved as drafts. Drafts appear in the Posts tab under the Drafts filter.

Each draft preserves the full variant state: all slides, text, images, and the template it came from. You can return to a draft later, make changes, and queue it when ready.

Drafts are organized by generation session. Each session shows who generated it, the prompt used, the model, and the status of each variant (working, drafted, scheduled, posted).

Review Links

Share your carousels with clients or teammates before posting. Create a review link that lets anyone preview the content without needing a Doublespeed account.

Review links can be:

• Public. Anyone with the link can view.
• Password-protected. Require a password to access.

Reviewers see the full carousel preview and can leave comments. No login required.

Session History

Every generation session is saved as a snapshot. The History panel shows:

• Who generated it and when
• The prompt and model used
• Number of variants and their statuses
• Visual preview of the first slide

Click any snapshot to reload that session's variants. Pick up where you left off or compare different generation runs. Undo and redo across your editing history.

Workflow: 20 Carousel Variants from One Template

1. Pick a template. Browse public templates. Find one with the right slide count and visual style.
2. Check variables. Open it and see what fields change per variant.
3. Click Generate. In the prompt: "20 carousel variants about foam rolling recovery tips for women over 50. Each covers a different technique. Page 1 is the hook, pages 2 to 4 are the steps, page 5 is the CTA. Captions should include 3 to 5 hashtags about recovery and wellness."
4. Set variant count to 20.
5. Assign image collections. Product photos for page 1. Lifestyle images for pages 2 to 4.
6. Generate. AI fills in all text, pulls images from your collections.
7. Review. Scroll through 20 variants. Click into 3 to 5 to spot-check. Edit anything that needs tweaking.
8. Assign accounts. Pick a different account for each variant, or batch-assign.
9. Attach music. Select a trending track from the Music Collection.
10. Queue. Send them all to the posting pipeline.

Best Practices

Templates

• Start with public templates to learn the format. Build your own once you know what works.
• Templates support up to 20 slides. Keep most carousels between 3 and 7 pages: under 3 feels thin, over 7 and completion rates drop.
• Page 1 is everything. The first slide determines whether someone swipes. Put your strongest hook there.

Generation

• Specific prompts produce better variants. Include the topic, audience, tone, and structure.
• Generate more than you need (20 instead of 10) and pick the best.
• If output is inconsistent, try a different model or add more constraints to the prompt.

Images

• Upload images to collections before generating. The AI pulls from collections, so a well-organized image library makes the difference.
• Use per-page collection assignments when different slides need different image types.
• Product shots on hook slides, lifestyle on interior slides.

Scale

• One template + one generation session can produce a week or more of content.
• Refresh templates monthly. Swap designs to keep feeds from looking repetitive.
• Use CSV import when you have a content calendar with pre-written copy.
